Embody Your Full Ecology

WEEKLY PRACTICE SESSIONS

INCARNATE is weekly guided embodiment practice devoted to integrating the full ecology of who you are. This practice invites you into relationship with the parts of yourself that you have learned to resist, reject, shame or avoid, but in doing so, they continue to control and shape your life unconsciously. This is why the same patterns play out over and over again in your life, because until you address the underlying energy, it will continue to manifest.

"When an inner situation is not made conscious, it happens outside, as fate" - Carl Jung

It's easy to point out shadows in the world around us, yet the deeper work asks us to recognise where those same dynamics live within us. Whether it be our unresolved emotions, taboo desires or shadow dimensions. Yet when these energies have a devoted space to move consciously through the body, they no longer control us from the shadows.

This is the true REWILDING OF SELF. A wild human is not someone who lives barefoot in the jungle. Be be wild is to have embodied access to the full landscape of your being. And when you develop a conscious relationship with these forgotten territories of self, you actually become a far more integrated, loving, regulated and mature human being.

This is the foundation of ecosomatic work
and a starting place for repairing our relationship with the living world. Because the work begins with examining how you have separated yourself from most primary ecology; your body, and how you either reject or embrace the intelligence of nature that lives INSIDE of you.

EXPANDING YOUR SOMATIC CAPACITY

Our weekly embodiment sessions inside INCARNATE will also develop the capacity of your body to meet the fullness of life without collapsing, disassociating, rushing to fix things and grasping for control.

This practice strengthens your body's ability to stay present with sensations and energy (including uncomfortable ones), and in doing so, it expands the range of your nervous system so you become far more open, resilient, and receptive.

Instead of shutting down when strong energies arise, your body learns how to receive and metabolise them with more ease.

As your capacity grows, your life expands with it. Your body becomes a vessel capable of receiving and holding MORE - whether it be love, creativity, money, or simply the experience of being fully alive!

BASED ON ACADEMIC RESEARCH

BASED ON RESEARCH

INCARNATE is also a living translation of Brittany Jane's pioneering PhD research in ecosomatics.

Her research showed that across all ancient cultures and throughout human history, humans have participated in ritualistic embodiment practices that involve consciously inhabiting particular energies and aspects of our ecology as a way of cultivating integration, holistic wellbeing and even spiritual protection.

Brittany explored this directly within her PhD case studies, particularly through the embodiment of mythological forces as powerful teachers, given that myth represents the wisdom of nature encoded in storied form. Her innovative work in this arena has offered significant contributions to her field and you get exclusive access to her research in these weekly sessions.

Frequently asked questions

WHAT IS IF CAN'T JOIN LIVE?

All sessions are recorded and uploaded shortly after the live class. While it is always beautiful to practise together live, it is not essential. The recordings are still incredibly potent!

When I ran SHED: 21 Days of Dance, many participants were unable to join live due to time zones, yet they consistently shared how powerful the recordings were when they practised in their own time.

DO I NEED ANY DANCE EXPERIENCE?

Not at all. These sessions are open to people of all levels of experience. This work is not about choreography or performing particular dance moves. It is about connecting with your body and allowing yourself to move in the ways that feel true for you. Each practice can be adapted to meet your body and your capacity on that day. For example, you might spend the entire session lying down and circulating energy through the body rather than moving vigorously. Both are equally valid expressions of the practice.

HOW LONG ARE THE SESSIONS?

Please allow at least one hour for each session. This includes around 30–40 minutes of movement, along with an opening transmission and integration time at the end.

WHAT DAY/TIME ARE THE SESSIONS?

The weekly sessions take place every Wednesday at 7:00pm Sydney time (Australian Eastern Daylight Time). If there is enough interest, we may alternate between a morning session and an evening session in the future. For now, all sessions will run at 7pm each Wednesday.

IS THIS OPEN TO WOMEN AND MEN?

Yes. This practice is open to both men and women. INCARNATE is not a gender-specific practice. Anyone who feels called to explore this work is welcome to join.

ARE CHILDREN WELCOME?

This practice is designed for participants 18 years and over. Because of some of the themes we may explore during the sessions, INCARNATE is intended for adults. If you choose to share or engage in aspects of the practice with your children, this is done at your own discretion and responsibility.
